OKEY HAD A NICE PARTY BUT BOY NOTHIN BEATS NOIDA

Finally I caught up with my College buddies at RPM. Had lots a fun on that overcrowded floor. I'd rather say it was a bit too cramped for a day disc - You tend to njoy such squeezed spaces at nights when your not to much in your senses, dont u? Any ways Delhi crowd n music charms me in its own way. Hung out an hour here n there around Priya. Though I caught up wid lots a Punjabi numbers which I miss so much in Chennai, but one thing that i can't help but say is, when it comes to party places, nothin beats the hep sector 18 man. Yeah, NOIDA's place to be.

DIFFERENT WAYS IN WHICH MONEY IS SPENT

I found this awesome must-read on Amit Verma's blog India Uncut where he quotes Milton Friedman-

There are four ways in which you can spend money. You can spend your own money on yourself. When you do that, why then you really watch out what you’re doing, and you try to get the m
ost for your money. Then you can spend your own money on somebody else. For example, I buy a birthday present for someone. Well, then I’m not so careful about the content of the present, but I’m very careful about the cost. Then, I can spend somebody else’s money on myself. And if I spend somebody else’s money on myself, then I’m sure going to have a good lunch! Finally, I can spend somebody else’s money on somebody else. And if I spend somebody else’s money on somebody else, I’m not concerned about how much it is, and I’m not concerned about what I get. And that’s government!

AWESOME PERFORMANCE BY TEAM INDIA TO DRAW THE SERIES!!

Mekya ji dil khush ho gya Indian team di performance nu dekh! Though at Calcutta, they were beaten up badly by SA, rather the pitch and the dew I should say, they came back strongly and gave, a performance worthy of the men in blue, and entertainment deserved by the electrifying crowds at Mumbai. A day n night match in winters in India makes winning and losing simply a function of the dew factor - an issue needed to be taken care of in the future. This was most evident at Calcutta. But it's quite heartening from an Indian standpoint to know that conditions in Mumbai were rather fair thus not making the toss all that important. The captain Dravid did well to highlight this fact at the presentation. All in all an awesome season for Indian cricket with many positives. The biggest positive being- the team of stars is still a team of both old n new stars but now, almost eveyone's firing to get us these victories much deserved by such a starry aggregation.

SOUND AS MONODIRECTIONAL AS A LIGHT BEAM!!

Ain't that great?! Yes, I just came accross a cutting edge technology developed by Dr. Joseph Pompie of MIT at its Media Laboratory which enables you to put sound where you want. Using this technology you can make sure that sound is heard only in a radius of a few ft. at a definite distance from the loud speaker(which is specific to its design) in the direction in which the louspeaker is facing. And the rest of the space can be keep quite. I'm damn fascinated by the technology and am trying to get more n more info on it. I'll keep posting it whenever I get more info.

Technology. Physicists researching in the area of sonar and other detection systems discovered about 4 decades ago that sound waves will be more directional if their wavelength is very small compared to their sound source. Audible sound comin out of regular speakers has a wavelength comparable to their source. So the sound produced by those speakers is omnidirectional. On the other hand this new technology uses ultrasound produced out of disc like loudspeakers having large cross section area. Ultrasound as we know, has a small wavelength of just a few millimeters results in highly directional sound. Now, the question is - "How on earth is ultrasound be heard by our earthly human ear?" Knowing the inherent qualities of the atmosphere we know that air causes the wavelength of the ultrasound waves to increase n come into the audible range. The distance at which this transition occurs can be calculated, thus making apparent atleast the possibility, if not the viability, of engineering loudspeakers giving out highly directional sound for specific applications.

Applications. Manufactured at holosonics, audiospotlights have been installed amusement parks and museums like Boston Science Museum. Dalmer Chrysler has ordered for installation of audio spotlight system in their cars as well, so different costumers could.
